I can remember, in my "just moved out of home" days, picking off green and furry bits to eat the rest ... seems I survived :-)

No - I've not done green and furry!

I used to love raw sausage meat as a child!

Me too Jan, and pigs pud. Mom worked at the Co-Op and my gran would take me in when we went out, I'd sit on the counter merrily munching away. And so far I'm still alive.
Alas, I am dying beyond my means.

There is a theory that food waste has more than doubled since supermarkets introduced buy 1 get 1 free deals. I would much prefer they mark down the price on 1 item personally.

Raw sausage meat!?!?! Jeez!

Kazzafunk I think you may be right. My ex-Wife shocked me when first moved in together. Would do a shop that would last 2 weeks and cost £200 and be throwing stuff away as it had gone off! Things like mini-sausages in tubs. Sausage rolls. Snack food rubbish.

Needless to say my fridge at home is usually empty apart from Milk, Margarine, some salads and the usual jars of mustard etc. My missus moans when she comes round. I tell her no point filling it up for it to go off. So I go to supermarket every other night and look for bargains hehe.

Is that black pudding 4kids? Absolutely love it!

kazza - I disagree. I love BOGOFS. I always trawl the reduced section in Asda and Tesco. Got some special fried rice this week for 40p a portion - it's now in the freezer!

Aye it is a good thing as long as you freeze it or eat it quick!

Raw sausage meat is lovely! My mum always used to give me a link to eat when she had been to the butchers.

I'm guessing that raw sausages may be a black country delicacy.

Haven't had any black pudding for ages but I do love it. It's very good for you in one way as it's full of iron!

I must try a cheese and black pudding sarnie!

kazza - believe it or not, if I have cooked sausage or any type of meat then it has to be well done.

I just love the taste of sausage meat!
