How long will it take to repay the debt if you use your partner's surplus income once their IVA has concluded?

nearly eight years altogether, but that figure is based on payments as they stand now, OH has the equity clause in 4th year of IVA so expenditure would be higher. we are also on interest only mortgage during that time and we have both stopped our pensions, OH will be 50+ by the time it finishes with no pension and little equity.

scratch that. OH IVA proposal accepted but with mods with an uplift of £80pm, that throws my debt management out of the window. have not accepted yet and will be making decision by 10am tomorrow. my DMP would be 30 years now [:(]

Is that your IVA has been accepted? Or your partners? Or both?

O/H IVA accepted but we have adjourned because they want £80 uplift and not only does that make it really tight, it makes it unfeasible for me to go into debt management, my IVA rejected by MBNA who held 50% although all other creditors voted yes. was just unlucky that they hadnt sold to max recovery. discussed at length with OH and we are 95% going to both opt for DMP until we reassess the situation. if we accept uplift on hubbys then it would make it virtually impossible for me to enter an IVA at later date. as no money left

Where do creditors think that your husband can find another £80 from? And could you not just declare yourself bankrupt?
