That's excellent Moneypenny. Glad you are getting sorted out and so glad that things are ok again between you and your husband. Me and my hubby have found that it has made us stronger.

I'm really glad that you finally managed to speak to someone, although I have to say I find it disgraceful that your IP won't speak to you personally. The lady you are speaking to sounds as though she's on the ball though, so hopefully 2010 will be better for you.

I'm glad you had a good Christmas, and I hope the hamster is settling in nicely!

Glad to hear you finally got through to someone helpful MP....although I do think your IP should be available to speak to you if you so wish.

I'm sure the new year will be a happier one for you and yours, wishing you a very happy new year xx

SKIPPY, its not that our IP WON'T TALK TO US, WERE JUST TOLD THAT THE MANAGER OF THE PRACTISE WILL LOOK AFTER US. SINCE OUR IVA STARTED WE HAVN'T SPOKE TO OUR MALE IP ONCE, ITS ALWAYS BEEN A SUPERVISOR, WHO WAS SO UNHELPFUL, AND MADE US FEEL ASHAMED AND INHUMAN, BUT THE PRACTISE MANAGER MADE US FEEL THAT THERE IS CHANGES THAT CAN HAPPEN TO MAKE OUR IVA MOR MANAGABLE.
last spoke to practise manager was the 23rd dec, have not heard from them since, hope they ring soon.

ALTHOUGH I HAVN'T HEARD FROM THEM YET ON ANY DECISIONS, I HAVE SENT ALL RECIEPTS FOR SHOPPING GArage bills and petrol, lots of documentation, i hope to hear from them on monday, but will only wait until midday, then i will be phoning them. I think its dreadful that they can't keep communication going, and i'm allways having to use my phone credit to talk with them, this is costing me far too much, and just can't keep doing it. anyway i'm sure a coclusion is on the horizon, catch up with you in a couple of days.

Moneypenny - I cannot emphasise enough, your appointed IP has a duty to talk to you! At the end of the day you have appointed this person to act for you and as a professional IP they should act like that......professionally! afterall you are paying for their services!

So for them to say they won't talk to you is totally unacceptable!

Does he actually know anything about your case, I wonder?

Melanie - it must be frustrating for companies like yours, who thrive on personal contact, to see situations where clients don't have access to ther IP's.

We've not actually spoken to ours since the day the IVA was approved, it's always been a case manager and we are now on our third in 2 years.

To be fair, we have usually managed to get hold of them quickly if we have needed to, apart from this last time. I think it's a disgrace that Payplan shut down for almost two weeks at one of the most stressful times of the year.

I would prefer to work with a 5% failure rate Julie than a 30-40% failure rate.

So long as you feel that you are getting a good service Steven, that is perhaps all that matters. As a matter of interest who was it that conducted your meeting to discuss the IVA both initially and to go through the figures to check for accuracy and affordability, and who explained all of the legal implications of the IVA to you?

If I had to go for an IVA again (I don't intend to, but would never say as who knows what the future holds) I would go with a smaller practice and make sure I could speak to my IP.

I only spoke to mine when I decided to go BR, before that I spoke to case managers, one person at the start, another when the IVA was being drawn up and another when it was approved.

I hope that I will never need the services of an IP again, but I would definitely make Mel my first port of call this time.

I hope i never had to go down the IVA route again, but if i had to ,i would use a smaller company like Melanie.I wish i had found this site at the start of my Iva and not the end.It seems nowadays even in an IVA you are just a reference number and not an actual person who worries themselves silly and just get the runaround by the bigger companies.
Iva F&F settled...Yeah !!!
