I've just checked my bank account and the last payment has gone! I'm so happy - it's been 6 very long years with plenty of up's and down's but I've finally made it.

To everyone who has made the giant but positive step to start an IVA I wish you all the best. It's a long journey for most of us but worth it to sort out your finances and your life.

Thanks must go to this forum - its been such a support for me. I've not posted much but have enjoyed the fact that if I had a question it was sorted out very quickly by our experts and just some positive encouragement from members has often done the trick to reassure me.

Thanks to my bf and family who have supported me so much during my IVA.

I'm off to work now - had boooked a week off to enjoy this feeling but IP said I could finish a month early as account could be settled sooner than I thought.

Have a lovely day

x

Great news. 6 years is a long time to cope with the stress that can come with being in an iva.

Never mind completion certificates,it should be medals, flowers, champagne and chocolates that get sent out after last payments have been made!

Thank-you everyone for such lovely comments. I will keep the forum informed of progress with the completion certificate. I'm having a quiet nite in as my boyfriend is working nites but hopefully tomorrow I will get to spoil myself a little and celebrate.

During my IVA lots has happened including losing my dad, he committed suicide which was so sad. He helped me lots when I was raising my son on my own - son's dad never paid any maintenance so thats the main reason I ended up having to have an IVA. So tomorrow I'm off to the his grave to tell him I've paid the final payment.

I've got the weekend off so I'm going to chill out and enjoy it - I hope everyone else gets some time of too this weekend.
