That's a good idea - makes it more fun for them. Never thought of doing anything like that.

My daughter is a bit too old for that now and my parents certainly wouldn't go for it!

Mine love it, even the older ones. They are tittering all day with names I come up with.

There's not many of us for Christmas Day so I think it would be a bit lost, and my parents wouldn't understand any of it.

I'm glad Cole's back to normal. Harry would say hi if he could be bothered to move - he's asleep on the back of the sofa!

I'd love to have a real tree, but I couldn't be doing with the needles going everywhere. We've got a 5' slim tree that I bought in Next a few years ago but we haven't really got the room for that!

I hope you have a fantastic Christmas in your new home Lily xxx

totally understand that it wouldnt work for everyone Jan. Its just something I have always done, think up codes and silly names. I know my kids love it and they burst out laughing as we pick out one pressie at a time and whoever picks has to read the silly name out.

Hiya Skip
We have one in a pot, so they dont drop that much, they arent really that wide in Asda, as long as they are watered. One problem last year was one of the cats used it as a loo. I cannot believe the prices of the artificial trees, over 100 for something that comes out for a couple of weeks. What are those upside down things? What planet is that designer from? Where would you hang the presents?

I'd probably forget to water it! My record with houseplants is poor to say the least - my aloe vera and money plants have both gone to meet their maker.

I got my tree in Next - surprisingly it was only £30 and it was a really good one.

I know what you mean about the upside down ones - they had them in the Christmas tree display at our local garden centre last year and they looked awful. Give me a traditional tree any day!

Oh Lily, your kinda Christmas sounds like mine! I love it and get so excited. I've made shoeboxes for my 2 daughters this year (25 and 23) full of little things that they will/use to love. Hairbands, brushes, fingerless gloves...just girlie things that mean things to us.

We normally have 2 trees, artificial in the dining room and real one in the living room, but I don't know if its worth it with Latch peeing everywhere and Dobby destructing it! Thankfully lady teide is well behaved [:D]

Talking of Christmas, i am so looking forward to taking my little ones to the pantomime on the 28th [:)]

Mine cost me £15 and will be used for many a year to come.

Julie - no way could I do a pantomime. I hate them and always have done!

I will put my tree up next weekend, it's a job I love to do, I love Christmas for the children and have 5 grandchildren and now I find out my son (who lives in Manchester) has a girlfriend with 3 of her own...how wonderful and I'll meet her in January.

I love the pantomine but am not going this year as granddaughter is going with the school and I do like to support the local one.

Our tree will be up on Tuesday - we always put it up on the 1st December and it comes down on the 2nd January as I have had quite enough by then!

Mine will probably go up next weekend or during that week.

My uncle used to take me to a pantomime and I enjoyed it when I was young, but when I was 25 and he still wanted to go I had to say something - I couldn't think of anything worse!

Hate pantomimes. My daughter has never been to one.
