Well yesterday afternoon when i got in from work i had the perfect end to the perfect week, our boss had been round to see Shaun(who had had to have the week as holiday as we had no work)and had given him 2 weeks notice of laying him off!
The worst thing was our boss had come back to the office, not said a word to me but said i could shoot off at 4.30 if i wanted to.As you will know from my other posts this week has been crap,we spent last night in a state of shock, and today Shaun has been phoning round various contacts within the trade.Hopefully he has a couple of people phoning him next week with some possible job offers and i have an interview Monday morning so everythings crossed.I don't know why i'm surprised it's events like this that contributed to our troubles i should be used to it.It just feels as though everything is in limbo jobs money, proposals etc.
Today my mobile has also been going non-stop with 0800 numbers and i just know it's creditors and i just don't answer them.
I'd like to ask if anybody knows if Shaun is entitled to anything? He has worked for Roger for 8 yrs now but only went on the cards a couple of years ago when he became ill.We are monthly paid which i guess is why he has given 2 weeks notice till the end of the month.Any advice would be greatly appreciated[:(]
Sorry to rant on a Saturday night but i haven't had a chance to get on here as we've had Shaun's kids to stay xxxxx
CAN'T BUY ME LOVE !!

Oh Trees, I'm so sorry - what an awful week you're having.

I can't answer your question about whether Shaun is entitled to anything, but maybe s.b.w. will be able to help. She works in HR and hopefully she'll see your post.

I'm sending you both loads of positive thoughts, and I hope your interview goes well on Monday xxx

You guys just don't deserve to be treated like this - but as it sounds that your employer is also moving towards insolvency it is probably better to get out now. As I said to you on the phone the other evening, some things happen for a reason and you will both bounce back from this I am fairly sure.

It is worth looking into, but if Shaun was working as a sub-contractor to the company prior to being taken on as direct labour, he probably can claim continuity of service.

Forget the creditors for now - they can wait until you get yourselves settled, and we will deal with fending them off in the meantime.

What a horrible time for you at the moment, this week has been awful.
I am sure things will pick up soon, and as Melanie says leave the creditors calls for a while - they can wait as you have enough on at the mo.
Best wishes
Emma xx
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Hey Trees, just got in from work and saw your post. You really don't deserve all this hassle. You're doing your best and you just keep getting kicked down. Please try and stay positive, I know it's hard. The creditors will wait, you need to get on with your life and start to have everything going your way. Thinking of you. v.w X

Hi everybody, sorry i haven't been on feels like my feet haven't touched the floor this week-end.Thank-you all for your thoughts and posts.Today i've had time to reflect on everything and i feel a bit calmer about things. The good news is i went to my interview and i can start there as soon as i've sorted out what's going on here.Shaun's still awaiting several calls so hopefully he can get sorted and we can continue with our proposals.I read my posts back and i sound awful moaning on when other people have more seriuos issues going on so apologies,i think i just went into panic mode.
On a more cheerful note Shaun's neice's husband rang us this morning, she gave birth to the first baby a whopping 9lb 15oz!!!His neice is only tiny(size 8 [:(])lord knows how she managed that[:0]
They've called her Lacie Mae which i thought is really cute.Hope everyone is well today xxx

That's fabulous news Teresa, and you will be a credit to your new employer. Just need to get Shaun sorted out now - shouldn't be too difficult with his skills - and let's work towards you signing those IVA documents shortly.
