I am now into my 2nd year of my IVA.
It has been tough, working 60-65 hours a week etc.
I always i make sure that the payments are made on time-- £425 per month.
I didnt get a christmas card off the company i am with (i did last year!!!).
It all started when my then girlfriend moved in with me.
She agreed to pay rent, whilst i paid all utility and shopping bills etc.
This was fine until i asked her if i could get a motorbike, im 26 not and hadnt had one since i was 16!!.
She said yes, as long as she could have a new car!.
Fine i thought.
So, loans were taken out in my name, bike and car purchesed.
Then things started going wrong,
She wanted new clothes, bras etc etc and muggins here paid for them.
The credit cards i had kept upping my limit (stupid i know) and i paid the minimum balances off by direct debit.
Then, she dumped me, took the car, everything i had brought her, and went.
No explanation, so that left me with the loans, everthing i had brought her, bills, rent, shopping all to pay off on my own.
It has been a struggle and i have not confided in anyone about this, even my current girlfriend, who is the best in the world.
I started getting hassle from creditors, but when the IVA was accepted this stopped, which stopped me worrying.
My only problem is, the company i work for occasionally has slow down weeks, which means all overtime is cancelled so i am not earning as much.
Its going to be a struggle this month, my current bank account i have had a £300 overdraft on it, which i never used, which came up for review yesterday.
It has now been removed from my account, so if i go overdrawn which looks inevitable, i will get charged!!
Anyways, this forum seems like an excellent idea to get problems off chests, advice, sympathy and above all strength.
Thanks for reading!!

Hi Andy
Thanks for posting.
If you are having a tight month speak with your IP and see if they will accept less this month or next and let you pay it back when you are earning overtime. It would be sad to see you pick up bank charges, they are not only expensive but can escalate and cause you problems.
Don't be afraid/embarrassed to contact your IP as we all have problems making ends meet during an IVA and they will understand
