I got Early Discharge from bankruptcy!

Yippeee, I am freeeee!

I cannot believe it, it has been THE worst time of my life, but
thanks to everyone on here for their good advice.

Went bankrupt last August, discharged in middle of March, so not bad! I was convinced I would get a BRU for continuing to live on credit when I should have realised I was insolvent.

I can start to live again now and relax, hopefully!

I can only assume I got ED because I have no assets and no IPA

Hubby has not got ED because he is wrangling over an IPA the OR wanted to implement so he probably won’t get discharged early now as this has dragged things out.

Our house was in negative equity so no money to be made there so the OR had no interest in it and its been repossessed

I can only presume the OR has “done with me” [:D]

Phew stones its really not that easy, I have seen Janes journey and its been hell for the family, Jane was very, very, very low at some points amd almost gave up on life itself. Many other BR's have been to hell and back here too.

That's great news Jane, pity about hubby though, he's time will come though....

Stones, in defence of Lily, if you read your post it does seem as if you are implying that br is easy. EVERYONE on the forum is having their fair share, as you put it, some more than others and we are all here after one hell of a journey!!!
Don't get me wrong, IVA's seem as if they can sometimes be very tough and unfair, but choices are made to enter into an IVA route, whether it be due to personal or employment reasons. Filing for bankruptcy and going through the process is not easy, there are a lot of sacrifices that are made, especially when your family home is involved.
The thing is with this forum is that we make friends who are in a similar situation, we support each other through the good AND the bad times and we get good advice, whether it's from experts or other posters, we can all have our two penneth worth.......
It's nice to be back......

Look I'm sorry if anybody is offended here, I merely wanted to wish the poster well because now her/his life can start afresh.

Early discharge can happen because the OR can deem it not beneficial, usually because the bankrupt has no assets to realise or has no disposable income(and won't in the near future). As it costs money for the OR to handle every case it is better for them to discharge early rather than drag it out. Hope this explains how Jane managed to get discharged early.
