I can understand Jan, criminals can reform too, do you agree, only looking for your opinion or anyone who wants to comment. I know a great success story and would be proud to tell it to you off forum. x

They can Lesley, but the little so and so's I deal with just come back time and time again. I've just been to court with one who burgled his aunt's house.

I think I know who you are talking about, as you've mentioned it before.

I'd be happy for you to email me the story.

How much extra paperwork/time that must involve Lesley!

We had to do crbs for everyone and if anything showed up, had to interview them. Even if a drunk & disorderly showed from 20 years ago!!

I certainly agree "criminals" can reform...afterall someone could have made one mistake and will always carry that tag.

I do agree that it can happen. I'm just biased as the people I deal with are prolific offenders.

I thought that spent convictions dropped off the CRB checks a bit like IVAs on credit files?

I think its silly Lesley and the new register comes into force this year I think?

A crb is only as good as the day you apply!

Spent or not, once you have a criminal record it stays with you for life, whether you have been convicted or not.
