There is no reason why you can't do both petitions on the same day as far as I am aware.

There is no such thing as a joint bankruptcy, unless you are trading as a partnership in which case you could file a combined petition - but you would also probably need individual proceedings as well to deal with the separate estates.

Most married couples do their filing on the same day. You will have separate in interviews with the OR, but the cases are likely to be dealt with on a collective basis - especially if there are no assets at risk.
