I totally agree with Johns comment about there is no such thing as a problem... I never see a problem i only see a challenge.

His story is an interesting one and he has proven that if you can pull through the biggest of problems, and he seems to be doing very well.

A question for John - Does the IVA insurance cover the IVA payment only or does it cover loss of income and replace a % of the lost income. Does it work in the same way an Income Protector insurance or is it purley enough to cover your IVA ?

How would an IP view this if it got to an annual review and there was no income coming into the house the IVA payments were being made by the protector ?

John's insurance specifically insures just the IVA contributions, although I believe that he also offers full ASDU insurance as well.

To your last point, I am sure that the IP would be delighted to continue to recieve the IVA contributions directly from the insurance company!

Hi Carl

Protect IVA is designed specifically to cover IVA payments. Because of this:

1. claim payments are paid DIRECTLY to the IP.
2. payments for Illness or Injury can continue for up to 60 months.
3. cover and premium levels are GUARANTEED to the end of the IVA.

The maximum monthly insured benefit of Protect IVA is the lowest of:

1. 125% of the monthly IVA payment.
2. 50% of gross income or net profit
3. £1,500 per month.

We also offer:
Protect-a-Debt - to cover DMP payments.
Mortgage Payment Protection.
Income Protection.
Loan Payment Protection.
Rent Cover Plan.
Self Certified Mortgage Payment Protection.
Shared Ownership Cover.

All the above have their own individual cover limits and policy terms and conditions.

Please contact me directly if you need any further information.

Andy,

Thank you for your comments, but Forum Members working through IVA's, orz those like you who have already done so, are much more deserving of respect than I am.

People working through IVA's had the courage to face up to their responsibilities, and not take the easier opt out through Bankruptcy. I had no choice, I was forced into Bankruptcy. I like to hope that I would have had the moral courage to choose the IVA route, but as I don't intend to go that way again, I will never know.

All of you have my greatest respect.
