Public Service too, though nothing as important as nursing or teaching, but all we are getting is announcements telling us there will be another announcement soon !!!!! Currently having a whole new pay agreement settled as well as a total re-grading. I have alrady dipped out on a £6 - 7 k pay rise thanks to Con-Dem ... what next ???

Best of luck, Kat, Lem< Lesley and many others in this "same boat as everyone else" (unless you are a CEO, MP or top banker)
And there are plenty of top `bankers`[;)] out there, who are getting away with financial murder and not being held responsible or having to face the consequences of their financial incompetence in the same way as us.

Well the news has hit the local papers today, it's not good PR for the Trust with it being the heart ward they are closing, it also states they are going to shut 10 further wards in the next 3 years as they need to save £94m, £21m of that in the next year.

If you know anyone who is planning to start nurse training in the next year or so, try and put them off as there will be no jobs for them for a long time

Or do your training and then move abroad - some countries will welcome you with open arms.

Fingers crossed for everyone in this position at the moment.

Well it's D-Day for me and after about 2 hours full sleep last night I'm here at work after having to swap a shift so I can attend the meeting! Server was down so great start to day!

Can only get better can't it?

b***** hell ive only just caught up with this thread! We’ve had a similar thing happen here with our CCU beds, its truly awful whats going on. Sadly this is what NHS nurses have been trying to tell folk for ages....but no one listened!!

i really hope those at risk can get a decent relocation within the trust, i know from past experience it will be heart breaking moving from a clinical specialism your passionate about to an area you feel unfamiliar with nor find challenging!!

To anyone on this subject who is facing uncertainty about their jobs and conditions of employment, What, if anything are your unions doing and saying about it?

I'm just dreading this afternoon as I'm so close to finishing this IVA x

I spoke to the RCN last thursday and unfortunately they said the Trust are acting within the law so there is nothing they can do

I will and thank you for your kind thoughts and good wishes.

I know the decisions have been made already and nothing I can do can change them despite me sitting here and working through Advanced Practitioner work just to say I can do it! Crazy thinking!

This is terrible and I can only agree with the sentiments expressed by all posters. It is a disgrace that the NHS is being targetted for cuts but we can send people to Rio for conferences on global warming after the wettest spring on record!

The Olympics is costing a fortune and is way over budget and personally I think that is what bankrupted Greece. Bankers still getting multi million pound bonuses, the 'bonfire of the quangoes' would not like a candle, politicians ripping us off and getting richer by the day etc, etc, etc.

The Tories promised we are all in this together and the NHS would be safe. I am not surprised this was all lies because 'what do you expect from a pig but a grunt'.

I'm not going to get into politics with you Michael as we'll never agree, but I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks the Olympics bankrupted Greece. I said it to someone the other day and they laughed at me and told me how great it is for this country as it's created jobs and will bring in millions of tourists!
