Fingers cross Lem - just look out for number one during all this and don't think of others ! You need to do what is right for you and your family - thinking of you x
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
matrix you wouldnt believe what goes on, and how everyday we are risking patients lives by the cuts that have taken place, the current health service is a sham and i really dont believe that ten years from now it will still be in operation as we know it.

IVA accepted 6th May 2011, Full and Final accepted 17th April 2012.
Good luck to you kat68! I hope you get a job in the restructure!! It seems crazy to cut in areas where there are already shortages; it just shows the state of the economy [:(]
thanks Bol will know more tomorrow, was always told nursing was a job for life, but then no job is safe anymore, just seems such a waste of experienced proffessional people, 21 years so far including intensive care, high dependency, coronary care and general medicine, and now it counts for very little, we are all but a number.

My consultation period was extended to last Thursday (I teach) and I logged on to the work server last night and the Principal's email says the senior leadership team have met and they've a few things left to sort and we'll know by 5pm Weds 20th.
No idea what I'll do as I'm only half way through getting the grade they want for one of the new jobs if they go the proposal way!
We'll see. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Kat, you are so right, despite the skills we have and the specialisms we work in we are treated as a nobody, we are just a number on a bit of paper, we are losing 30 of our 57 cardiology beds yet the Trust have just employed a further 2 full time consultant cardiologists (as they need more consultants to get FT status next year)
We study so hard, and continue to gain further qualifications in our specialist areas and then are just removed from our posts and slotted in a vacancy wherever that may be, our Trust want to cut staff numbers by 20% over the next year so many people are going to go.
There are 220 students who are about to qualify in a couple of months and not a single job available for any of them
Kat kem & Lesley, good luck to you all, hope it works out for you. I too am having to undergo a competitive interview to apply for the job I have done for several years, all due to local government cuts......
To anyone that voted for the present "government" well done!!and yes the other lot aren't much better but at least (speaking for myself) the NHS felt safer in their hands.Rhetoric will always be a part of politics but these lot have turned it into a science, benefit cuts, defence cuts, NHS cuts, ect all a neccessity to pull the country back from "the brink" yet the tax rate for higher earners "CUT" by 5% who are they trying to kid?
I have good reason to rant about NHS cuts, not trying to be melodramatic but i wouldn't be banging away on this keyboard if it weren't for them, (a good thing some might think)So again to anyone who voted this lot in, congratulations you have probably sealed the fate of the NHS and it's highly skilled and dedicated workforce and pushed us towards a USA style form of healthcare, "you can have it if you can afford it"
"Careful what you wish for you just might get it!!"

I agree, but what do this government do with the savings they make with these cuts? They bail out the banks and other countries. It's time they looked after the things that matter here first before throwing money at the world.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.
My daughter in law is a nurse and she has had problems getting a full time job. We keep telling her and my son to go to somewhere like Australia where they'd be welcomed with open arms.
If we were younger we'd certainly be leaving the UK.
Good luck to all of you - hope you get to keep your jobs.
So sorry to hear your news. Just to add to Lem & Kat's comments regarding the NHS. I am one of the ambulance staff who regularly have patient's sat on our stretchers in hospital corridors simply because there are not enough beds in the hospital. The A&E is like a bottle neck, once there is no movement or available beds, everything comes to a stop with ambulance queues waiting to offload patients. Unless you have experienced this, most people have no idea what it is like. I once looked after 5 patient's on ambulance stretchers in a corridor at A&E for the whole of my 12 hour shift. The reason I had 5 patient's was so as to release other crews to answer outstanding 999 calls. On that day, there were 56 outstanding 999 life-threatening calls, and no crews available to answer them. And this happens every day. So my patient's remained on a ambulance stretcher for 12 hours before they could get an A&E bed and finally be assessed for their particular medical/trauma condition. And all this because of lack of hospital beds, so to make more closures is madness. Agree with Kat, the NHS is in a crisis & heading for a meltdown.

My sentiments entirely Harpic,
The country has definately gone to the dogs. What future is there here for the current and next generation?.
My friend`s son had his 21st birthday here then went to live in Australia last September. He`s back for a month to see his family and friends, then he`s back out to Australia to his well paid job and fantastic lifestyle in a great climate.
My Mum tells me every now and then that she and my Dad came close to emigrating to Australia when I was a baby...Ah well.
