And what's wrong if people do that? You can get some good bargains in charity shops!

I've had stuff from charity shops before and loved it!

I'm not far from Weybridge and Ascot and there are some really posh charity shops there!

I'd never be ashamed to buy anything in a charity shop.

Must check out the Oxfam shop! I love a bargain and if someone else has worn it first - so what?

I don't do Romanian though as they are not charity organisiations. We have their bags through the door all the while and if it's a company who only pay so much across to a charity or sell the goods on abroad they can forget it!

I can get more for me off Ebay!

Hi folks, I been reading this thread with interest and can really sympathise with how a lot of you must be feeling as I too feel like this a lot of the time.

I have had a lot of ups and downs in the past two months. Had my husband's redundancy back in November and now it seems the same thing is going to happy again very soon - but we will cope.

Many of my friends have holiday homes overseas and they all keep trying to get me to book flights and go with them. Wish I could just go like they can. Been using the same excuse of work commitments and my academic timetable as reasons for not being able to go.

I would just like to say that last year we told our closest friends our situation and they have all been absolutely brilliant. We all used to go our for expensive meals and weekends away but now we have take-away nights at each others houses and of course the BBQ season has started. Yes we do occasionally go to the pub and have a few drinks. We are also members of our local social club and that is much much cheaper than the pubs.

Regarding clothes I have bought a few things off Ebay and sometimes use the voucher codes website to see if I can get any discount off Wallis, Next etc. In fact next month I am attending Ladies Day at Ascot and have managed to purchase a designer dress from Ebay for £30!

I generally dont buy 'cheap' clothes as they tend to not last very particular long, therefore I dont consider it to be cost effective.

I do need some new work shoes and I know that wont be cheap but it has to be done.

To make our budget go further we pay all of our bills on direct debit or standing order and it has made a big difference. I would suggest everyone do this as it will mean that you can see what money you have each month without worrying when the car insurance or car beakdown is due next.

Regarding food shopping, I do an Asda online shop when I get paid and get all of the frozen food, rice, pasta, tinned and food jars we need. The only food we have to purchase then on a weekly basis is milk, bread, fruit and vegetables etc. Also by shopping online I tend to stick to what I need rather than what I want!

Although i am paying my IVA and doing my Best . no matter how you look at it there are always those months in every year which are a right struggle and you feel like your 3 weeks wages short and counting the days till your next payday which is when it Grinds you down especially if you have things crop up such as car or house repairs and the Pressure is relentless as you the Catch 22 situation of paying the IVA or missing a payment and getting those things done as the cost could be expensive, and to cap it all off it then gets picked up at Annual Review Time.
