I'm sure I remember reading something on here a few months back, maybe even when we started our journey, but its something thats been playig on my mind for a while.

We've always taken out protection on any previous payment because of the way jobs can be, but on this occasion its not something we've actually done.

Does anyone already have PP and where did you get it from.

I'd much prefer to go to a recommended site. Our IVA payments are lower than some peoples and because of this the monthly premium would probably be quite low, I would pay this out of my allowances if need be.

Any advise or recommendations please?

Check out coveritall who should be with the experts on the left hand side. I think he does it.

Can you sort payment protection out at any point during the IVA or does it have to be at the beginning?

I think you can sort it out whenever you like.

This sort of protection can be taken out at any stage of an IVA, and John's firm does broker an excellent product which I would be happy for any of my clients to take out.

Sounds silly, but can you put the cost of this through your budget? or would they question it?

I don't see why not - it is being paid for the benefit of creditors after all.

Been thinking of doing this myself, however, for those of us working in the public sector, what happens if you have been given a notice of possible redundancy, i.e. 90 day consultation period? The possibility is there, however it is unlikely as a lot of people are leaving due to other jobs and early retirement etc...
