I have sent the majority of paperwork to my IP. Just waiting for the mortgage redemption statement from NR.
Since discusing my I&E all my outgoings seem to be increasing and I am starting to worry.
Firstly my gas and electricity supplier have written wanting to increase my monthly payments by £65!!!!
I cannot change suppliers as my account is £200 in arrears which I don't have the funds to clear.
I have rang them and managed negotiate them down to a £20 increase per month. But it's still an increase.
Next my car insurance is due for renewal next month and the quote from my current insurers has just come through. Last year I paid £552 and this year they are quoting £738!!!!! No change in my details apart from gaining one more year no claims taking me up to 3 years. Needless to say I have spent a couple of hours on the comparison websites today looking for cheaper quotes.
And I've just received next months phone bill - I never normally use the landline, but with all the calls I've been making recently to my utility providers and NR etc - this month's bill is £5 higher than usual.
It's just becoming a nightmare. I've given details of all my regular outgoings and all of a sudden they seem to be on the increase. I'm getting very nervous and my IVA isn't even in the draft proposal stage.
Hi Tillergirl - worry not - let your Case Administrator know and they can adjust your details accordingly. This happens all the time which is why we say at the beginning that nothing is set until your proposal is drafted.
I know it is all very nerveracking and the increase don't help but Melanie will look after you.

I'm with Npower for my gas and electricity and after searching the internet i discovered that there is whats called " first step fund". Basically they can wipe out arrears of up to £500 and you start paying what you consume rather than increasing your payments every month. I went from paying £120 to £85 and now we are just very careful with our electric etc and i ring them every so many months to see how we are looking ie credt/debit.
The landline is a problem for me too, but the way i think of it is if your IVA is acceped how many calls will you be making then to 0845 numbers ??? Alot less i should imagine.
Another tip about using your landline is to search a website called "say no to 0870". It gives you an alternative number to ring ie a landline or 0800. What i do is ring these numbers and say that i can't make outbound calls to 0845 numbers and they always put me through including NR.
It is a worry, I know what you mean about gas and elec, our rate change a few months ago. I've actually done a test today to see which used more gas, either GCH for an hour, or fire in one room for an hour. mainly because during the day it can get cold, but puttin on CH for whole house is daft.
try Uswitch for the utilities and then may be see if old one will accept a monthly minimum payment...can this be added to IVA (just a thought).
Insurance def worth looking at comparison sites, is there any chance you could change the cover, are you fully comp, do you need fully comp.
Mel's team including Tina and tamsyn are wonderful, am so glad I've gone with them, they'll be able to help am sure.
I've just read about that NPower Scheme and it sounds good. Unfortunately Eon do not seem to have anything similar.
If I can borrow from family at some point I may look at USwitch and change supplier.
And I've found the website for 'say no to 0870 numbers'
Thanks
If I remeber rightly both of you where with NR too for mortgage....I requested my Mortgage Redemption Statement 2 weeks ago tomorrow - have either of you requested or received yours yet?
That's a good site. If you want to know who is phoning, you can use whocallsme as well - that's great.

Yes it seems we have alot in common lol. We've got a together mortgage, i requested our redemption statement on the 25th and i got in the post today (28th). I'd ring them again try and speak to head office that's who i spoke with.
Did you say you were using Mel Giles's company too ???? Have you put a proposal together??? I'm getting all my documents together would really love this to be sorted before xmas.
It would be nice to keep in touch with you and see how your getting on !!
Hi we were with NR years ago but are with Skipton now. Try ringing again hun, I know its stressful but the likelyhood is that the person you speak to in the mortgage department won't know about anyone else that may be tryign to get in touch.
I used whocallsme for a number the other week. and they are still calling. its annoying.
yes add me on frugal friends and i'll do the same. You need to be in your profile to do this.
Looks like I am going to be a busy person running up to Christmas!! Hubby will have to do all of the shopping, house cleaning and cooking this year as well!
I'll lend you mine if you like Mel - he does all ours anyway!
