You don't actually need a branch close by as you can pay in and withdraw money from the Post Office. I don't have a local branch but I never had a problem.
We can only give you suggestions on what accounts to use - but if you find an account more suitable for your needs then use it - remember it will be your account for at least a few years - so you have to be happy with it !

Roma - hope you dont mind me suggesting - but when you get your paperwork through - do NOT be tempted to rush, read your paperwork a few times and ask a lot of questions (i am sure Andy wont mind) and neither will the forum.
This agreement is 5/6 years so you need to fully understand what is expected of you during this time.
