Don't be! For every person who complains about one of these firms, there are at least 10 happy clients who quietly carry on making their payments with little fuss or bother. People use this forum for advice when they feel they are not getting a proper service from their IP, and therefore certain issues can become a little disjointed. No excuse for any complaints though in my book!

I would agree - people mainly visit this site in the first instance because they are worried or upset about something. The way an IP firm reacts when a wheel comes off a case is a good yardstick of course, but those cases as melanie says are in the minority. If you are happy with the way things are going then by there is nothing to unduly worry about.

Sorry to hear about the problems you have been experiencing. Hopefully your actual supervisor will be able to straighten things out for you fairly easily.
Best Regards
Oliver

I agree with Tristan. There Customer Service is extremely poor and when they ring for something they are very rude and that is the case with every person I have had the misfortune of speaking to at that place. When I first setup the IVA they were great, almost 2 years down the line and they are terrible.

As Ian & Melanie have said already if the program is not going well and you feel you are being mistreated ask to speak to your supervisor.

I want to wish you well but it is really important to put everything into writing keep copied even send it twice and aso be totally up front with your IP provider - maybe you could ask your IP him or herself to designate a specific person who you can speak to in the future with whom you could try and build up some sort of rapport and stress that you really want your IVA to succeed do a nice but to the point letter including some reference to the service you have received so far which has made you unhappy?

Just wonderng

I am with a reasonably large IVA company and I have never spoken to my IP in 2 years, yet i still manage to get things sorted.
It cant always be easy for IVA staff to be told all day "I want to speak to the organ grinder, not you,the monkey!!"
I find you cant beat WRITING to your IP and sending it recorded delivery. E mails seem the next best thing but can often not be answered for days!!

Read the ratings on the iva.com not sure I wanted to read anymore , I am more frightened now , people who's crcomstances have changed they refused to lower the motnhly payment , I don't have a hope in hell with this company , one poek to the IP and no resolution , I am more frightened now than ever ,
My maternity allownce will run out soon if there is no resolution what am I going to so with my kids?

Paul Johns at Reviva - se above - offers an excellent reconciliatary process between debtors and their IP's and actually has a voice within this industry. As he is not an IP, using him to approach your own will seem helpful rather than threatening to your own IP, and may take the weight off your shoulders as you try to work out a way forward with your IP. It might be worth giving him a call.

Hi Melanie

Many Thanks for getting me in touch with Paul Johns ,spoken to him , just need reassurance thats all no disrepsect to anyone I am sure you can agree after what we have been through , I am sure you would not have placed me in contact with him if you did not trust him.

He has suggested bankruptcy for our case as we can clearly not afford our IVA , just need reassurance that the company is good , can't afford to make wrong decisions as I am now wholeheartedly putting my trust and families future in his hands .

I have only known Paul for a short while personally, but I have seen the results of his work and know that you are in safe hands.

Make sure you let us know how you get on with the bankrutpcy application and good luck - remembering your family are the most precious things to protect.
