Hi all, and sorry for what might be a long post/question!
IVA started in Feb 2012
Final payment made Dec 2018 (nearly 7 long years of hell)
Was originally with DFD, then taken over by Aperture
When I made my final payment to Aperture on 10th December 2018, I had already sent in the necessary documents for the final wage review, so that it could be completed before final payment was due. I was advised on 10th December whilst making that last payment, that they had completed the final wage review, and that nothing was outstanding. I asked them to e-mail that to me, which they did. E-mail stated that the closure process "typically takes 6 months" and reading some of the post's on here, it seems that Aperture really do take that length of time. However, I decided to give them a call on Monday, just to "chase them up" (as it is nearly 3 months since I made my last payment) and to check that everything was going as it should (especially as I have not had any official letters or documents in the post since making my last payment, I only have the e-mail that they sent to me at my request). After taking nearly an hour to actually answer the phone, the lady that answered was clearly just trying to "fob me off" because she started off telling me that "we are waiting to complete the final wage review". When I explained to her that it has already been done, and it has been confirmed to me via e-mail that no more monies are due, she then asked if she could "call me back" as she "had to check something". I said no, I would hold, as she had now made me nervous. After some length of time being put on hold, this lady came back on the phone, and gave me some ridiculous excuse about "waiting for their systems to update" and that she "didn't want to give me the wrong info", and she then confirmed that the final wage review has indeed been done, and no further monies are due, and that as for the completion certificate, it will take 6 months. Well. it is nearly 3 months since I made my last payment, and it does not even look like my case has even gone to the right "department"!! In addition to this, I decided to check the insolvency register last night (I have never checked if before) and although the details of my IP are correct against my name, the details against my husbands name (we are in a joint IVA) are incorrect - they still show the IP as being DFD, Debt Free Direct. Will this be a problem? Am I likely to receive my CC anytime soon? Should I have received any kind of "official" paperwork from Aperture since making my last payment? The last near on 7 years of paying into this IVA has been absolute hell, and I just now want to get it cleared off and start to re-build my financial life. One final question - at what point can I start to apply for credit, ie a credit card that helps to re-build your credit score? Am I still bound by the "rules are regulations" of the IVA until such time I receive my CC? Many thanks in advance for any helpful answers, and once again, sorry for the long post!!

Firstly it is not a joint IVA but an interlocking one. Some companies are quicker than others with completion.

Insolvency Register will clear within 3 months of completion.

But is the fact that it still states DFD on the insolvency register as the IP a problem, or not?
Is that within 3 months of me making the final payment, or 3 months of me receiving the CC?

Three months from when the Insolvency Service get their copy of the completion certificate.

The change of firm should not be a problem.

Finally -- you are bound by the terms of the IVA until that completion certificate is issued. There have been a few instances recently where Aperture have got them out fairly promptly --- but this could have been a flash in the pan ( thay have had them before! ).

Thank you Foggy, I knew you would have all the answers! I have read so much on here about Aperture, that I just don't know what to expect from them!
Lets hope that their "flash in the pan" is ongoing for a while

Hi I'm in the same boat, Last payment was 25th December since then I've not heard anything from them.

I've used their online portal and this shows I've paid all upto date with no further payments required.

Very unsatisfactory time delays here.

For me its about making noise now daily to them ... I know it means long winded phone calls but pester them daily and I am sure it will soon be resolved; give them a deadline; make formal complaints ... just keep mounting the pressure. However busy they are, closure process is just as important as start--up - I feel your pain!

sorry to hijack the thread again but after my email on monday i received an email on thursday that apologised for the delay and they carried out the final wage review that day which means they sat on it for 3 months  . there are no extra monies to pay and they have started the closure process which according to them can take the 6 months to start after the final wage review and they will give me a more accurate idea of whats going on next week. there is some admin work to do which will be completed within the next 2-3 weeks and they have started to distribute to my creditors.
i'm assuming then that after the admin work is done i get my certificate as they said at that point they notify everyone its finished?

In theory, yes. But some providers seem to sit on things needlessly ( have you noticed!?). Fingers crossed.
