I do not believe that it constitutes a breach of SIP 3 - if the IP can demonstrate the reasons for the delay. Different firms will have different procedures - and as we are all regularly inspected by our regulatory bodies, which includes a very thorough look at our closure procedures, I can only assume that the differing firms policies are deemed to be acceptable.

guys looks looks like this has got every one talking about the closures concerning GT and also the issues everyone is having on getting a response from any one. i did email my IP sunday and i did actaully get a call from his manager in that department concerning my email. she explained everything to me and cleared up a few things on my individual case. i did mention that i was in contact with many people on the IVA forum who had been waiting some lengthy times on getting they case looked at and they cc forthcoming. it was mentioned that every case is totally different to the next and so on so someones might be straight forward and get a response early or a problem has been noticed and has caused a delay in the completion. below is that response from my IP mananger on the subject of length of time its taking and hold ups last year........

refer to your email and our telephone conversation regarding the closure of your arrangement. For your records I have summarised the key points of our conversation.
Every IVA is unique and as such it is difficult to give a definitive time frame for each closure, until a thorough review has taken place.
Many people on the IVA forums have had difficulties regarding their cases which is leading to protracted closure time-frames; this may not be applicable to everyone.
The suspension of cases due the Tribunal Ruling in the matter of Paymex Ltd -vs- HMRC (VAT issue) has created a backlog of cases, which are being worked as quickly as possible.
I am keen that the closures are reviewed chronologically, to ensure that every one receives fair treatment and no one waits longer than they have to.

this above i do understand and will monitor this over the next two months to see, that what i was told on tuesday is correct. so many people are always in different situations then the next person, as you read some GT customers getting dealt with quickly now and some much more slower. on the front of GT not getting back to people is totally bad management as i have had my fair share of issues with this but i have had a clear email stating my individual IVA cc and the time scale and as such will leave it like that. i have been informed that i will be updated when the review has been done so i will await that email etc.

hope this kinda helps some but good luck with emails and contact as i know it is a major issue at the momment.

I cannot get a reply and it is difficult to phone during working hours so am stuck in limbo, no one answers emails or rings me back as promised 2 weeks ago. when I actually rang on my mobile at lunch time and now will be due a horrendous bill.

Our variation meeting to complete after 5 years was 11th August and I was informed that we would have the certificate by about Feb, and various other dates in between. I was advised yesterday that we will now receive it after 25th May, but the day before someone rang me and said it would be 16th June. We will see what happens and I will keep you posted. Our final payment was 1st June pending the meeting in August.
