Hey guys - my IVA has been approved today!! It has not quite sunk in yet. Approx 80k of unsecured debt built up slowly over the last 14 years. I felt so low back in May and realised I couldn't bury my head in the proverbial sand no longer! My offer was 22p in the £1 and my creditors were NR, Lloyds TSB, Barclaycard, MBNA, Natwest and Egg. ALL the creditors voted YES! The only change was an expected one - 72 months instead of 60 (NR insisted) and to be honest I am not going to moan about that. My meeting was at 1pm and PAYPLAN rang me at 1:10pm to say to tell me the good news. You always think that you are the one that will get rejected so it feels great not to have to worry about those damn credit card and loan payments every month! Anyway, this proves that there is light at the end of the debt tunnel. The first step is to admit it and make that phone call to a reliable company who have a good reputation. Finally, I would like to thank the various people on this forum who helped me with all my queries and actually bother to take the time to help people like me and many others in financial difficulty. Thank you!!!![:D][:D][:D]

I wasn't so lucky with my meeting yesterday, NR are being totally unreasonable, has been adjourned for a week - fingers crossed Payplan can do the business!!
Congratulations!!
Mine was accepted last Friday and it is a marvellous feeling.
I must say I feel incredibly lonely though.
Phone has stopped ringing and Postie just walks past now.[:)]
My hubby works nights and we don't see each other in the week.
When he rings from work post-IVA we have nothing to talk about, as debt was our main topic of conversation for the last fews years.
