I am currently 18months into my IVA and have the opportunity to acquire a 5% shareholding in a company.

It is likely that my IVA will be repaid early due to my income however will this shareholding be taken into account for anything or have any other effect on the IVA?

Thanks

Hi Rebecca
The best thing to do is to contact your supervisor, explain what is happening, the finacial implications and the likely effect this will have on your IVA. Your supervisor will then provide you with the most appropriate course of action.

Should you benefit from an asset during the term of your arrangement then it's likely to be considered a windfall and captured in the IVA.

Your IP will need to look at the paperwork to be able to give you appropriate advice on your circumstances.

Will you be paying anything for the shareholding? If so, how will this be funded?
