Had a phone call yesterday from Churchwood Financial (sister company to my IVA company Kingsgate) asking me if I was interested in looking at PPI and they had teamed up with Claims Angel. I mentioned that I would think about it, as it doesn't seem very beneficial to me as the money claimed by that would all go into the IVA debt.
Spoke to the Citizen Advice Bureau who hinted I could wait until after my IVA finished (I finish in Aug 2013), and then do PPI.
Either way I am inclined to leave well alone and see out my IVA without any more hassles as the last thing I want to do is upset my creditors. However, I was wondering if I could leave it until after my IVA and investigate a PPI?
I am also aware that Churchwood only want to get me interested so they can get a commission as well.

Your Ip has a duty to maximise the creditors return, this may mean you having to do a PPi reclaim, especially if there is money there to be claimed, refusing to do this could be classed as you not fufilling your role in the IVA to be open and honest and return any monies possible.

I don't think it is as a noble cause to be a rally call to the creditors
1 You do not need to claim on your PPI if YOU feel that it has not been misold to you, an tell your IP so.
2 If the IP is so interested in maximising the return to the creditors then why use a claims company, when a simple form can be done by oneslef. Or is it the simple truth the IP gets a referal fee (some might call it a bung) if the claims company is successful???

Hi allenhero! You obviously feel you have a claim and as such it is an asset due to your creditors and if successful you benefit by repaying more of your debt. If you do not claim, you will probably have to sign a declaration that bars you from making future claims.

I think it's good that it goes into the pot. Reading some posts on here and some companies will not realise the certificate unless you have tried to maximin the payments into the iva. I would rather do it now than have the stress later x
5 years done and dusted. Certificate received.

like its been mentioned many times on here, you dont have to claim anything unless you where miss sold! just because you may well of had ppi doesnt mean you was miss sold! i would not claim any way as this would be classed as freud as i asked for mine etc. i am really fed up with the presure some people are getting from claims company to make claims! they are just after as much out of it as possible and as such would not entertain such action. sorry but thats my thought.
