Hi,I was wondering what happens when you are in an IVA as a single person but then decide later on to either get married or live with a partner. Do your partners earnings get taken into account?

Yes they will, but only for the purpose of ensuring that you are paying a fair share of the combined household bills and not supporting your partner at the expense of your creditors.

Hello Marsha,

A joint income and expenditure will need to be taken, this is to ensure that the individual in the IVA is not supporting their partner meaning their creditors get less.
