My last payment has left my bank account. I'm debt free, well we might need a certificate and a few bits tidying up but I'm elated to say the least.

The forum has been a lifeline to me as I'm sure it is to lots of others. Without the valuable support of all on the forum I doubt I would have got thus far.

To anyone starting your journey there is an end as you can see and it's not just something that happens to other people. Hang in there one month at a time is how I completed it.

Thanks to so many people but most of all thanks to Melanie Giles for being an understanding IP when things were tough. I've had payment breaks along the way, one for a new boiler, one for a new washer all paid back by chipping away at those arrears until they were clear. The payment break that meant the most to me was a reduction in payments for one month when my brother aged 45 unexpectedly passed away during the duration of my IVA, I had to make a few trips to Manchester and I as the eldest wanted to buy the family flowers and Melanie allowed me to do this, for this I'm eternally grateful, thank you Melanie.

It wasn't all doom and gloom there were good times and I will update my blog over the next week to hopefully reflect this.

Thanks everyone xx
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Brilliant news Lesley. Hopefully one of many who will complete this year. To anyone reading this feeling down because the end seems so far away, march on, you will get there eventually and can enjoy posting about final payments etc.
