Well checked my account and my last payment to GT has gone today! It has been one hell of a struggle at times but no regrets. I will look forward to receiving the certificate of completion but know that could take a while ;-). I just wanted to say to anyone out there, just starting out or thinking of going down the IVA route, stay strong and believe that that light at the end of the tunnel does exist and gets brighter with every month that goes by. Plan is now to wait for a few months then start to check credit files etc, probably after christmas to be honest, we are in no rush. Its going to be nice just to have a little extra cash every month and be able to relax a little bit. Thank you so much to everyone on this forum for the last six years! The support and advice has been invaluable and I will keep coming on to try and help others as I have been helped. [:D]

Thats great sonj77 - well done and thank you for putting such an inspiraing post. Really pleased to hear you'll be sticking around on the forum - which ultimately would be nothing without everyone willing to post and join in.

Best wishes.

Sonj77 I'm really pleased for you! You've gone the whole way, despite struggles along the way. You should relax and maybe pamper yourself a little too! It's great that you will continue to help others on here! x

Sonj77..... well done

im with you 100%. my last payment was made 13th April, but needed a variation meeting held 2 wks ago to agree closure, with DFD keeping their bank account for my IVA open, in order to distribute the VAT payment when its finally sorted, although they have said this shouldnt really delay my closure.

im now £550 a month better off YIPPEE and whilst it will be nice to clean my credit file up,like you im in no rush either to do so, I have no need as ive learned to live on a budget and not rely on credit as i did pre iva; in fact im minded never to have credit again.

The one thing the 6 year slog has taught me is the true value of money & i have become feugal as a result. I really look after my money now and paying cash for 6 yrs has really make me think twice before i spend.

Well done again and as you say to anyone just starting out or already on the journey, it will be worth it depsite the odd hick up on the way ( you name it everything broke down, car, boiler, burglar alarm , washer and in fact anything that cost money to fix did & elec company read meter wrong and i ended up with a huge bill many months later ! ).

Been there, worn the t-shirt ( till it had holes in as i couldnt afford a new one )

Hope both your and my post help fellow IVA posters believe they can get to the end, no matter how tough it can occasionally get
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

the benefit for yor you km1512, is that I would like to think that in 12 months time, another year down the line that the PPI & VAT issues will be hostory, which if this is the case should hopefully facilitate much quicker closures

The last 12 months flew for me so hopefully you should find this also

good luck and best wishes .... start counting down now
