As most of you who have been reading my recent posts know that I am fairly new to this site, but find your questions and answers very useful.
Please could someone advise. We currently have the Sky package with multiroom in our children's rooms. Would this be classed as a luxury under our IVA plan and we would have to cancel the subscription - it won't be much of a loss for hubby and me, but kids obviously love it??
Thanks

Thanks to everyone for your support. Could'nt have done it without you.
You would only be allowed the basic Sky package in your I & E, but if you can make savings from other allowances you can use them to pay for the multi room.
Thanks for your reply. Do you mean the basic sky package you pay for about £49 per month, or do you mean that we keep our sky set up and only get the free channels that you can receive through the box??
Sorry to sound thick - but if I know, I can prepare the children prior, telling them it has to go??
Thanks
Sam

Hi
You are usually allowed £21 for Sky - Basic package only no Sport or Movies. However there are other allowances allowed under an IVA - i was allowed £16 per month on entertainment, £50 per month for telephone etc. It is up to you how you spend the money you are not paying in to your IVA, and it may be possible to make savings in other areas, and use those to keep the multiroom.

We only have te basic sky package. We pay £20 per month now and get all the kids channels within that (with exception to Disney Cine which Sky class as a movie channel), im sure multi room is only about £10 per month isn't it? So you could do that out of you entertainment budget and save for the odd day out from the shopping budget![8D]
I have just looked at my I and E sheet and I dont have an entertainment budget. I am allowed £10 for tv, £10 for Telephone and £10 for internet luckily I have the 3 for £30 from Virgin [:D]

I have a sky package which I pay £38 a month for. It includes the basic package and two multirooms. Because I have two multi rooms I get one for £10 and the other half price. In my income and expendidture I put this dowm and it was not queried. Whether it was taken off another allowance that I was not using I don't know.
Hope this helps
I am guessing it must depend on who you are with and what the allowances are but I am surprised Charlietill that you get the full Sky amount but as you say it must come off somewhere else
We're allowed the basic package and everything else is funded by the daughter and savings from allowances.
