Once you start getting things sorted, you will soon feel much better.

Hi Harry, believe me you are not alone in how you are feeling. Without this site I do not know what I would have done. I originally was going down the IVA route but then I was advised BR may be more beneficial to me, when I was told that I felt even worse. However the support and advice from the people on here is priceless and the help and advice I received from my IP was excellent. There are still days (many of them) when I wonder how the hell I managed to get myself in to this mess. But because of this site, and its sister site for BR, I at last feel there is a solution to my problems.

As the others have said most people have felt like you at one time or another, and the feelings will pass.

You haven't failed, you've taken a big step to face up to your debts, so you can feel proud of yourself.

Good luck with your IVA x

Harry,

Your at the bottom of a steep hill, but little steps will get you to the top and financial freedom.

I know exactly how you feel and can promise you it will get better for you; so long as you stay commited to sorting the problem.

Good luck and best wishes...

I am sure you will both be fine and join the rest of us with that great feeling of relief when your IVA's are approved.

Sometimes I feel sick, often I can't sleep, I can't speak to my clients sometimes as I have the words debt/IVA constantly spinning around in my head, they must think I am so ignorant at the moment.

Then I have to try and shield the children from the phone calls, they are so used to just answering the phone.

It will get better I'm sure, you have chosen a way, as have I, to relieve yourself of the situation you find yourself in and to pay as much back to your creditors as is humanly possible.

Good luck mate, you're not alone xxx

Harry - I'm in the same position as you and everyone else on here. The last straw for us was our debit card being declined when we tried to buy a £20 cardigan for our daughter for school - we've never felt so humiliated. We reached rock bottom in August, and after speaking to Julia at Vincent Bond earlier this month, I already feel much better. I must admit I had a bad day yesterday, but feel much more positive today - being on here has really helped me, and there's loads of really nice people only too willing to give their support and advice. Keep positive, we'll all help get each other through!!

Ah, didn't mean to make you cry Cath!! I've done enough of that for all of us over the last few weeks. I just feel like I've made some great new friends on here already, it really helps when people like you are here to share your experiences and ups and downs, and I'm really grateful - it's an emotional rollercoaster and your support is invaluable xxx

this is a wonderful site full of caring people who all have similar problems, and helped no end by "the experts" who must put in hours of there own time to help us, i for one am very gratefull. as said before it is a rollercoaster ride from elation on your first payment... the learning how manage on budget without the back up of credit cards (very difficult at first !!)and the thought of finally being debt free in x years we found it difficult around the first anniversary of our iva still 4 years to go ahhhhhhh, but as crazy as it sounds in 20 years of marriage and debt we are now enjoying life again and look forward to many years together debt free, good luck to all your input is invaluable

Mrs T fully agree and thanks to you for sticking around, we are all newbies at some stage and great to see so many that are in various stages of the IVA still hanging around to give others advice.
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!

This site is wonderful for support and advice. Professionals giving their time freely on top of their workload with expert advice, I log in several times a day and need my fix of the forum daily
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
