I have received a copy from my iva provider that states they have no interest in my PPI claim from m&s and that it can be paid to me directly. I understand that this means the money is mine and does not have to be paid into my iva is my understanding correct?

Sounds like it to me.

I agree -- the money is yours to keep. Some IP's have no interest in PPI at all (which might yet come back to bite them) and in some cases it is simply uneconomical to revive old records to distribute a refund.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
