Hi All
im approcing year 2 in my IVA (with Wilson Philips).
As I only have a Barclays cash card for banking (and a pre pay CC) I am asking if anybody knows of a bank account that will give Internet banking even if is view only. Also i would like an electron card or simalar which would stop the process of taking £10 out of the hole in the wall to pay for item worth say £6.

Thanks
PP

Hi and welcome.

Hubby opened a basic account with halifax. This came with a visa electron card and internet banking. I believe the co-op also do a similar account.

Hope that helps.

I have a Natwest Step account also. With it you get a Solo card and full use of internet banking. I wouldn't be without it. Kazzy x

HSBC were one of the few companies not linked to any of my creditors. Fortunately though I was able to get a standard current account with Maestro card, cheque book, and full internet banking. They even offered me an overdraft?!? That would have been a clever way to fail my IVA in the first month!

Be careful with HSBS though Stu, they are supposed to close the accounts of anyone found on the Insolvency register.

Thanks for the heads up Viki.
The staff in the branches thankfully dont seem to know that, as I recently gave my IVA as a reason for not attempting to switch my mortgage to them when they tried to sell it to me in branch.

Apparently they have a team who scour the register and if they find you they will send a letter out with one month's notice that they are going to close the account. Don't mean to scare you but when I opened an HSBC account a couple of forum members told me this as it had happened to them. Whether that's what they are sill doing. X

I have the Co-Op Cashminder account too and was a bit wary first of the Electron Card as people had said you cant use it in some places but so far most places have been ok - it even accepts it in a car parking machine that i use sometimes - Internet banking is good too and Customer Services are very helpful
