informing creditors of pending br

It cant do any harm to phone them and tell them and it might make you feel better, they are only phoning for a payment, just doing their job, annoying as it is. You can ask that do not call you and that you will advise them of your BR number next week.

You could always say that you are seeking professional advice/help with your debt problems. I think if you tell them you are filing they may be more persistant at trying to get a payment from you...
