It is fair to say that some IVA's do, indeed, 'suck' --- in that they should never have been entered into in the first place. In other instances it is the IVA provider that 'sucks', rather than the IVA itself. However, in many thousands of cases, it is the right solution and, with the right provider, can work well. As well as all of this, the consumer also needs to be in the right frame of mind and going into it for the right reasons.
I am not qualified to give advice and can only state my opinions, based on my IVA experiences.
People are at least making an effort to pay their debts back. IP companies do have to charge fees - nobody works for nothing and, apart from the odd company who appear to be greedy, creditors are happy with the fees charged. I for one, am glad I did an IVA.
We all have our own opinions? Were you ever in an IVA?

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

Our iva was absolutely the right solution for us. It created an opportunity to draw the line, retain our dignity, learn to live on a budget and start a fresh.
We had ups and downs during our iva, but we found the support of this forum so valuable.
As Kallis says every one has their own opinions ...
