im furious with equifax this is the only cra Im having bother with all the other cra have removed the iva & defaults. Equifax have decided to remove some of the defaults and the iva itself but their have decided to leave 2 old defaults on my report, WHY?? for gods sake I told the csr that it has exceeded the 6 year and I want them removed immediately but she told me to raise a dispute, I think its disgusting 6 yeats of hard work and equifax cant even do their job right, anyone else had this problem??

How ridiculous! Have you tried going via the lenders to get the defaults removed? If you go to their complaints departments they have 28 days to correct the error. x

It is espically as I made sure all the default dates etc were all correct last year. I have made a formal complaint and followed the procedure to get the last remaining defauls removed for good but can take 28 days.

Equifax only update Wednesday's and Sunday's but the default deletion dates tend to be random varying from 6 years 3 days to 6 years 9 days in my experience. By the time they've even read your dispute they will have been deleted. Frustrating I know but it won't be long now:-)

Equifax have to be different don't they. All the other CRA's can manage to delete either at the 6 year mark, or at worse 6 years and a day with Experian.

6 years and 2 weeks seem to be the standard with them.

I complained at the time too, got nowhere. Just had to live with it for 2 extra weeks. Is it right, no. Can you do anything about it, probably not.

However, if you did not correct the dates you'd have been waiting longer.

Congrats Phil and good luck for the future. You don't have to go, your experiences and wisdom could be used by others just starting out.
