Hi...I have debts in my name of over £100 K with various Credit cards and loans. My parter and I are no longer together as a couple but still share the same rented accommodation. If I apply for an IVA will my partner be involved we have no shared loans and in the process of getting seperate bank accounts as we had a joint one.

Thanks

Hi adam and welcome to the forum

If you are not living together as a couple, but as flatmates, there will be no need for he/she to become involved. Are you sharing the household bills on a 50/50 basis? And would your partner have benefitted from any of your borrowings at all?

Hi...we share the rent and food costs but other bills I pay for. He has benefited before from the debt re holidays and clothes etc and general going out expenses etc.

it doesn't seem fair if he has benefitted from this credit, that you should be left to shoulder responsibility

Hi
This is why creditors look at both incomes if only one person is entering into an IVA.
