If i am 1 year into an iva plan and i get married, is my new husband liable to contribute to my ongoing iva. The debts was in my name only and from before i met my new partner.

Hi fdowd and welcome to the foru,

Your new husband will not be required to make direct payments into your IVA, but if you are not living together now, when you are married your IP will want to see you only paying a fair share towards the joint household expenditure. This is usually calculated at the same rate to earnings, and may result in you being able to make higher payments to your IVA if you were historically paying all of the bills yourself.
