I was never told by Mc D that I would have to pay uplift money during payment break.

I have just completed my first year of an IVA with Mc D, however I had a 2 month break over Xmas for presents and such and to pay off some final bills from my wedding. I have now recieved a letter saying I owe over £500 for the uplift money during these 2 months?? I was never told that I would have to pay the uplift money during a break. So I'm feeling rather stuck and I really don't have the money to be able to pay it...

A break is usually tagged on at the end, but you will still be responsible for the uplift payments -- maybe they can tag this on as extra as well. To avoid being in permanent arrears, maybe a payment break now to pay this back and tag the resulting postponed payments on at the end again. And pay over any uplifts during this break right away.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
