I was made bankrupt in June. I spoke to my OR and it was agreed that my IPA would be NT Tax Code only. I have only just received my change of tax code letter and it says I will be on an NT Tax Code for the tax year April 15 to April 16. It says in my next wage I should get a rebate. I have been sending my wage slips to Clarke Willmott to prove I hadn't moved onto the new tax code yet. Do I pay Clarke Willmott the rebate?
Also the OR said due to my change of circumstances in September (we had a baby) she would send out a new Income and Expenditure form. This is fine but they are asking for my wife's payslips now. This never happened on the original I and E form and I just put what she contributed to the household. As it is my wife's pay has not been altered yet for her maternity pay this kicks in this month so past wage slips show her on her full wage. Which the OR doesn't know anyway.
Hi - I thought the NT code only lasts for 6 months but perhaps I am mistaken and someone else will put me in my place! Yes Clark Willmott should ask for for the rebate if it gets sent to you. They should also ask HMRC for it at the same time to make sure both bases are covered. If you don't provide evidence of your wife's income they will just presume you pay 50:50 of the expenditure. On the assumption her money will reduce when she starts maternity and your share of expenditure increases it will be in your interests to prove this otherwise it might look like you have more disposable income that you really have, which may give you a surplus available to pay contributions into your BKY pot.
