I agree with Skippy.

Please make sure that you are happy with the company you choose.

During the early days of proposing an IVA, your IP and their staff need to be on hand to deal with all of your queries and concerns - and it is important that they run through the whole process with you in great detail at an early stage.

We make sure this happens with all of our clients, as we know how stessful this particular period can be.

Briggadeen a belated welcome to the forum from me.

You do seem to be having a torrid time but from the previous replies to your posts it seems you have received some good advice, particularly in regards to the "callers".

All I would add is "hang on in there". We all have doubts and depressing days leading up to the creditors meeting, however, you seem to be with a decent firm and I'm sure they will do their best to get your IVA for you.

As Melanie mentioned they will have staff on hand to put your mind at rest and deal with your queries so make the most of it. I dont think a day went by without me contacting Melanies staff lol.....but seriously you dont want any questions left unanswered, particularly when the "proposal" lands through your letter box. Because of my "frequent" contact with my Company I was able to return my "proposal" duly signed within 24 hrs.

Anyway good luck and dont let the creditors get you down....eventually it all stops.

60 months is a long journey with someone you're not happy with, make sure you're 100% happy before signing anything, have a chat to a couple of other IP's and see what they suggest before proceeding. Nothing to lose by doing that, all the best x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

hi from me aswell. you are going thru the tough part now , the phone calls , the letters and i think we have all been where you are now and it does stop when iva up and running. i wish i had found this forum before we went into our iva but hindsight is a wonderful thing !!. yes the beginning is hard but we are in year 5 now and although we havent got any spare money , the end is in sight and i have to be honest and say this last few years has flown by. so hang in there, and as others say make sure you are happy with you ip and proposal. we have small kids too , my youngest is 4 and she was a few months old when we went into our iva , the others are 5 7 and 17 . we have a small amount set aside for xmas and birthdays andi have now even added costs of school outings and activities because it all mounts up . and you know , my kids dont go without too much ..... although father xmas has had to make a few cutbacks as my 7 yr olds list came to £1700 ( practically the whole argos catalogue ). she wanted the pretend fur real busciut dog at £174.99 but told her santa rang to say she couldnt have it as we have real dogs !!! lol she was ok with that / and i limited them to 6 items on their xmas list, obviously there is a bit more for them but they have to understand they cant always have what they want when mommy and daddy have no pennies . but we are happy and smiling, so its not all bad . good luck with it all.

Just think of next Christmas Molly - when hopefully your IVA will be a thing of the past. Definately worth looking forward to.
