Hello
I need advice regarding my situation. I co own a house which is empty that will not sell, unless we were to sell far below the amount that we owe!My ex partner will not help with the repayments on the mortgage.

I am struggling to make the payemnts and last year i got a ccj. I have now got up to date with the mortgage but i can't keep paying for an empty house as i have my own rent to pay for. I have rented the house previously, but due to interest rates the mortgage went up and there was a shortfall which i then had to pay. The mortgage is on interest only and there is no endownment or anything to pay off the loan itself.

I also have personal debts from a relationship breakdown of approx £15000. I just don't know the best solution. I work full time and am a single mother of 3.
Thank you

Other than the house, do you have any other assets that could be sold? Could you not hand the house back to the mortgage company? Bankruptcy may be an options as the house is empty anyhow.
It's nice to be back......

Just as an interim solution, as a way of bringing some cash in, possibly enough to pay the mortgage each month ... is it possible to rent the property out?
Tell it like it is.

Or move back into it yourself?

Why not move back in yourself and save on your rent that you are currently paying until such time as the house sells? Use this money to then service your debts or look into an IVA as well to see what can be done....whatever I wouldn't be paying mortgage and rent...no doubt your paying council tax too for the empty property!
