Well after reading everything I have seen on the forum I have taken the 1st step and went onto cleardebt site filled in their form and they advised me an IVA was a good idea, well their little questionaire did anyway.

I feel good and bad, good that my debt is less than I thought £14,068
and they say an IVA is still an option I thought it was only for debt over £15k but hey I am still happy, bad well to be honest everyone I am so scared, I am scared they will say no, I am scared that I have finally faced up to things and I am scared because I am only 24 and have got myself into a whole heap of mess.

Let me explain why I got into debt when I was 17 I was raped by a few guys after a night out with friends, and basically I tried to buy myself a new life and new memories I didnt want anything in my life that was the same as whent hese guys did this to me, so yes it was for material things but there was a reason behind it.

So now I just sit and wait for the phone call I only earn £402.18 a month as work for a friend part time from home, but I am moving back home so will be able to offer a mimimum of £150 per mnth maybe upto £200 per month so I am hoping things go ok

well sorry for the rambling - god I hope this works

Glad you have made that first step.

Cleardebt are a good company and recommended on here. They are also good at doing low monthly payment IVA's as well, so if anyone can help you, they can.

Sorry you have had such a rough time of it, but hope this can be the a fresh start for you.

Good luck and keep posting.

What a hideous story, and no wonder you looked to other things to blank out those horrific memories.

With regard to an IVA, just be sure that you can afford to meet the repayments, as five years is a long time to be living on £250 per month, and in my opinion is unrealistic.

But living at home with help from parents will help. I am sure my team will not have recommended an IVA and only have done so on the basis of all the information given to them Melanie and I know of many people living on less than £250 per month.

I wasn't aware of the other stuff Joanna and my heart goes out to you.

Still a long way to go mind, but I am glad that at least the Co-Op came through for you in good time.

Fingers crossed.

I am so sorry to hear of your terrible time in the past Joanna and I know how personal tragedies do make you turn to spending on material things for comfort. On a more positive note ClearDebt are great to help you through your financial difficulties and I don't think you will find anywhere better than this forum to help pick you up as well from the emotional lows in life.
