I have paid off my IVA and now I want a mortage. What can I do ? First buyer scheme ?

i have paid off my ava and now i want a mortage but one bank said no, so what can i do? another option could be first time buyer scheme?

Before you look at a mortgage get a copy of your credit file and make sure that enough time has elapsed for any defaults to have been removed. Also it takes a few months from receiving your completion report for the IVA flag to be removed from your credit file.

Try one of the online credit reference agencies, www.noddle.co.uk are a free one although they only source from one credit reference agency. There are some others that offer 1 month free that you could try as well.

must wait until that beastly thing has gone from your CR and best not to apply for anything till then, if you look at the last couple of posts on mortgages sort of sums it up
