I have lost count of all my creditors and have thrown bills away - how will I be able to set up an IVA without these details?

Hi
You could get a copy of your credit file, there are three companies that hold these and the main two are Equifax and Experien.

I believe that Experian has introduced a free 14 day trial to view your credit history online, just remember to cancel the subscription so you don't get charged after the free period. Alternate to that you can order a report to be sent to you for about £2.

It is important to note that the Credit Reference agency will give you a starting point...... not all credit providers supply information to the reference agencies.

For example you will not see internet, utilities, insurances, council tax etc etc etc.

If you pay these things through your bank you could ask for a copy of statements for the past 12 months ?? together with your credit reference report you will at least have a starting point.

Time spent now compiling the information will certainly prevent delays and possible failure going forward.

Hi Ricke and Welcome,

I agree with all who posted, I think the way forward is to get a hold of your credit report.

May I ask what your estimated amount of debt is? Have you been advised as to whether an IVA is best for you? Either way, whether you undertake an IVA, Debt Management Plan or Bankruptcy creditor details and amounts owed will be needed.

Best of Luck

Hope this information is of use
