Hi

The meeting's adjourned my main creditor is querying my petrol costs, I do on average a 100 miles a day and do not get enough petrol allowance from my employers to cover the mileage. From what I gather though only creditor that is trying for bankruptcy has voted no, so they have been outvoted. Hopefully better news tomorrow. I knew it would be worrying but not this bad.

Thanks for all the support

I'm sure your IP will be able to explain your petrol costs and their won't be a problem. Good luck for tomorrow x

My IVA is being dealt with by Grant Thornton, They have been very good as they knew the pressure with the BR petition. Tomorrow is another day and hopefully things will be sorted.

Just for information for Melanie who asked which creditor was going for bankruptcy, as I stated it was a company called IDS solutions who proport to be a debt aadvisory company lol. The debt was small in comparison to my other creditors but they used an ambulance chasing solicitors and the court costs that they may incur are covered by insurance, so they had nothing to lose by trying the br route.

Hi
Very unusual for a creditor to petition for bankruptcy, sounds like they are wasting their time and that your IVA will be successful.

I do hope so Andy - creditor's petitions rarely produce much return for the creditors concerned.

STill not resolved the fuel allowance. My main creditor wants and extra £110 per month. My IP is going to try to justify the amount I have to spend on fuel. Also I should have gone through my expenses more thoroughly when I got my proposal as there is no allowance for car park fees and congestion charges. The petrol allowance and extra expenses such as parking etc are all bulked together as income. A lesson to be learnt. Check your proposal with a fine tooth comb before signing it. I think a lot of people donlt do this as they are in a stressed state of mind and just glad to be getting close to the eventual meeting.

This highlights how important it is for IPs to go throught the income and expenditure carefully with their clients to avoid things like this getting missed. We nag and nag our clients to make sure they have covered everything, and for workers who drive into London it is obvious that there will be parking and congestion charges.

Although clients are stressed, IPs are not - and the responsibility lies with us to get it right first time.

Got the good news this afternoon, my IVA has been accepted with no modifications that will affect me. My main credior has accepted my high travelling costs. It is such a relief. My payments are deffred till January so that I can save enough money to buy a more reliable car which I need for work. Thanks everyone for your support.
