I have just had a ccj against me with forthwith payment. I have other debts and in fact another ccj pending. I am interested in doing an iva but concerned that the ccj dated 09/02/11 will kick in before I can sort this and bailiff action etc may occur. Can you help?

I was in the same position when I applied for my IVA and it didn't cause a problem.

It was a huge relief not to have people pursuing me for money.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Hi Matt
Welcome. Suggest you contact 2/3 IP's whose details you can find on www.iva.com and discuss your personal circumstances with them. They will give you free non partial non judgemental advice about the options that are available to you enabling you to make the choice of the correct way forward for you as an individual. Just pick up the phone, believe me, they have heard it all before and will find a solution for you

Hi Matt.sy

A creditor obtained a CCJ against me in July last year and my IVA was approved in August, which superseded the CCJ.

As nepensioner says, your best move now would be to talk to a few IPs to get free impartial advice and then decide if an IVA is the best option for you.

Good luck and keep us posted on how youe getting on. This site is excellent for support when going through debt problems and solutions.

Hi and welcome! Sounds like you need to take action sooner rather than later. IPs are lovely people, very easy to talk to and not at all judgemental. Speak to two or three and go with the one who you feel most comfortable with. Best of luck x
