I think that there has to be a minimum of 21 or 28 days between you returning the signed proposal to the creditors' meeting. Hopefully one of the experts will be on to confirm this.

17 days is the minimum timescale, and that is what we operate in my firm. Cannot see any reason to extend this unecessarily.

Thanks Melanie, I am with your company and was told that someone will probably be calling early next week to go through the details and the proposals should be drafted so do you think it will possibly be sorted by the end of August?

Drop me an e-mail so I can identify you to your forum name, and I can specifically give you details of our anticipated timescale. I am sure we looked into this for you earlier this week, but I am happy to look again and assure you of our best intentions at all time.

my iva terms had to give creditors at least 30 days notice for a variation and when i signed my proposals it was aprox a month for my creditors meeting to vote on my iva proposals.i suppose different ip firms have different criteria regarding timescales.depending on work loads etc.

I think that we have already identified you, and my staff have spoken to you with regard to the progress of your IVA application, but if not then don't hesitate to call or e-mail me.

Hi, Don't know of anyone can give me a bit of advice. I am due to have someone ring me from Melanies company tomorrow to go through the I&E then hopefully the proposal will be drawn up. My problem is I know Melanies firm ask for the first months payment to be sent back with the proposal. Excepy 2 days ago my boiler decided to break down and the quote I have been give is £225. This has come at the worst time as obvioulsy kids are off school as well meaning increased expenditute which we could have managed somehow if it wasn't for the darn boiler! Is it written in stone that it has to be sent with the proposal as things are going to be really tight if thats the cae. Can't believe something has gone wrong before we even start!! Any help please??

I think that you are worrying about nothing. Speak to Melanie or one of her staff and I sure they will put your mind at ease.

Melanie, Don't know if you are on here yet but what do you advise. When the lady calls tomorrow to confirm the I&E, is it a phone call or do they come to the house. Hubby seems to think she said on the phone she would be calling at the house but he actually most probably didn't hear right!

I absolutely do not insist on the first payment coming back with the signed proposals, and of course you must replace the boiler in priority to anything else.

We are not here to make your financial situation worse, and I can discuss this with you in detail when we speak.
