Hi I entered into an IVA 2 and a half years ago, I am now married with two children. My Wife owns her own house. I tried to tell my IVA company that I had my first child, to which the reply was, how convienient, they do not no about my second child, and also that I am married. Should I tell them, I am very worried about my wifes house, it is in her name not mine, my depts were mine before I met my wife, I am just a little worried thgat they will try and take her house. If you could give me any advice it would be much appreciated.

Hey anthony, welcome to the forum. Your wife's house is safe but I would definately tell your IP about your change in circumstances. I presume your income and expenditure has changed so they do need to know. X

It is really important that you keep your IP informed of all changes in circumstances, and they should certainly have been informed that you have married and now have children. How are you dealing with the additional costs this must have incurred at the time of your annual review? So long as you have not put your name to your wife's property, your Supervisor cannot claim to have an interest, so I suggest that you write them a letter just to cover yourself with a family income and expenditure account which shows you paying a fair share of the family expenditure, and takes account of the child benefit and any tax credits you may be receiving.

Hi I did inform the company that deal with my IVA, the answer when I told them about my first child was, and I quote,'how convienient.' then during my first review nothing was said, so I assumed that it did not matter. As far as my second review is concerned I am still wsiting for it, it should of happened in January, but as of yet nothing. My second baby was born 4 weeks ago, so this is still new. As far as money goes yes it is tough at times but I am coping, one of the modifications is a little harsh, and does cause me concern and problems but, I got my self in to this, so I have to deal with the consequences. So you definatly think I should inform them again?
