I entered into my IVA 2 years ago.I pay £366 pm, and have struggled each month. I work, my wife does not, and we have 4 children in full time education.I am under the care of my GP for stress due to IVA. When may I pay less? Thank you.

Hi Rich and welcome.

So sorry to hear that you are ill, and that you are struggling.

You need to speak to your IP and ask that your payments be lowered.

You seem to be suggesting that you have struggled with the IVA payments from day one. Were the figures based on your actual expenditure, or something someone at your IP firm told you to put down?

Hi rich104,im sorry to hear that you are suffering from stress.I too had problems coping.
I dont think people realise how money problems can affect your life.
If it wasnt for the fact that my wife is a lot stronger than me in this respect, god only knows where we would be now.
I was very depressed and mixed this with alcohol one christmas and the results were awfull.
I have just completed my third year and things are ok now.Im used to the budgeting and can see the end.We were 70K in debt and could/should be debt free in two years.
Keep the chin up my friend and goodluck
Always lots of guys on this site to talk to.
Regards blods

Rich if you are struggling then you need to revise your income & expenditure form. Has anything changed since your IVA was agreed?
