I am planning to contact an IP with the intention of starting the IVA process. I want to open an account with the Co-operative Bank - does MBNA have any connection to them?

No, you are fine to open an account with the Co-op.

I would look at several IP's before making a decision. Visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews. You will receive free and impartial advice as to all the options open to you and the best way forward for your circumstances.

A good idea to get your new banking arrangements in place at an early stage of the process. Good luck in your search for an IP firm to represent you.

hi pat pre iva you should be able to open a account with the coop online,otherwise give them a ring thats what i did and found them very nice to talk too.

The co-op receive excellent reviews from lots of posters on the forum.

The only thing I don't like about about the co-op account as compared to the Nat West is that the internet banking with the co-op doesn't show up POS transactions as soon as they occur, you have to wait for them to show up and thus remember what you have spent and what is left in the account!
7 year IVA completed in December 2016 - there is light at the end of that tunnel

Have successfully opened Cashminder account. I must say the Co-op were really helpful. Thanks for all your advice.

Good luck Pat hope all goes well with your IVA application, i would read some of the other posts as there are some very good IP's on here who are very supportive.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
