I guess I'm really lucky in the grooming respect, waxing is done on favour for favour basis as are all our haircuts, I'm quite nifty with the clippers if I run out of favours! I could never stop having my hair coloured, I am so grey it would add 10 years on to me!

I had my hair coloured for about 30 years, but I just couldn't afford it any more. Fortunately it's still mousey brown with a little grey. I never thought I would ever go back to my natural colour.

Have you noticed that the males have left us alone to our beauty tips on this thread!!

Fortunately, I put a stop to my blonde highlights 3 years ago, I have long hair and having my roots done every 6 weeks was a big cause of argument with my estranged! So, I'm back to brunette and not labelled 'Bimbo' anymore. It is true that people take me more seriously, think that I have something to talk about and think I am more capable! Ho ho!

My hair is gradually getting longer and longer and I'm sure my friends think I'm having trouble coming to terms with getting older. Even my children wrote happy 24th birthday in my recent birthday card as they have kindly knocked off a year each year since I hit 30! I need to make best friends in the hairdressing/beauty industry!

I'm now at the stage where I just love to wash and go with my hair, which I can do as it is so short. In the shower, a quick rub with a towel and run the brush through it and I'm ready to go!

I am more than happy to do favour for favour treatments, some times the favour for hair is a cooked meal, not just beauty treatments.....bring back the age of bartering!

Absolutely! It's actually a nice way of helping out friends and rewarding yourself.

I need to send a questionnaire out to my friends to find out hidden talents!

There's no way I can stop having my hair coloured as I've got so much grey!

My hair is the only thing that I really spend money on - I have it cut every 6-8 weeks, and highlighted every 12-14 weeks. If I didn't have the grey I wouldn't have it coloured!

Totally agree Skippy grey hair is a total no no for me! Mt sister went 'au naturale' and it seriously added 10 years onto her!

No way will I ever be an old lady who goes to the salon once a week for a shampoo and set, although you can't knock them as they are bread and butter clients!

A cut every five weeks for me - my hair is dead straight and I've never had, or will have, a shampoo and set!
