I am so sorry to hear that Viki - just when things were starting to turn the corner for you at last. Having met John a couple of times - I am sure that he will not find it too difficult to get something, and hopefully things will pick up in the New Year.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Thanks for the advice Lulu. i never thought of that. He is going to call them tomorrow and have the telephone interview and then hopefully get his face to face before Christmas. He was going to do it when he got back from the dentist, but the root canal took longer than usual and he wasn't in any state to call them!

Are you on the frugal friends map lulu? If so and you add Viki as a friend, and she does the same, you will be able to email her without waiting for admin to pick this up.

You don't have to. Just put yourself on the map, then you can use the drop down list on your profile to add Viki's name as a frugal friend. She is already on the map and hopefully will add you so you can then email each other.

He should get job seekers allowance if he has no redundancy - I think what happens is if anyone gets redundancy in lieu of wages than you can't claim until that runs out. Somebody once told me that "trials are proof of Gods care" - going by that theory God must care for us a lot with the amount we have all been through. I having a very bad week - Philip got to see his new consultant this week (I went with him - that was one day without pay for him this week). The new man was very good and gave us a lot of time and is arranging for all sorts of tests and brain scans but he said he needed Philip to come of all his medication at once. I did say to P that it would be best to wait until after Christmas but he didn't want to and low and behold my worst nightmare P had adverse reactions and withdrawals and I ended up driving backwards and forwards to emergency appointments today. P now off work - no pay - and don't know what's going to happen.

Thinking of you at this "trying" time!!
Elizabeth

Oh no Viki, just when things were all going well. What a horrible way to be treated by friends. I hope he finds something soon. Don't let it spoil xmas for you both though and give him a hug from me!
